Greetings all! The New Year is one of my favorite holidays because of the promise of new beginnings and continued tradition that it brings. In the case of MOWB, we are gearing up for our biggest year yet. I’m looking forward to getting to know more of you, engaging with your content, and offering new and fun opportunities! As we look toward 2016, here’s what’s happening in the MOWB network:
I’m working on a few ideas for blogger meetups around the state. If you have an idea or want to help with a meetup in your area, please let me know! Don’t forget that we can also gather digitally on our private Facebook Group. If you would like an invite to the group, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Women Bloggers will be hosting a new and improved conference this fall in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Its a great way to meet bloggers from our sister networks in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Alabama, and Mississippi. You’ll also learn a ton in sessions ranging from writing to vlogging to social media tools. We’ll let you know as soon as the date is set.
Our network currently has over 100 members, and we hope to triple that by the end of 2016. In February we’ll do a membership drive with prizes for the bloggers that refer the most new members.
We also want to help you grow you and your blog! What would you like to get out of the MOWB network in 2016? We will be sending out a survey later this month to gather your thoughts.
As I mentioned above, one of our big goals for 2016 is to engage more with your content. We have a couple new projects in place to facilitate that:
- Wordless Wednesday – We’ll be featuring your photo posts on two Wednesdays per month. All you have to do is email a photo (or two or three…) that fits the theme of the month along with a short bio and a link to your blog.
- Foodie Friday – We’ll be featuring a new guest editor every month for Foodie Friday posts. These editors will be looking for your help to provide content for Friday posts in the form of themed roundups, guest posts, food photography, and more. We still have a few months open if you are interested in being a guest editor, let us know! I am the editor for January, and I am looking for food-related posts you have on your blog for a roundup under the theme of “Celebrate”. If you have a post to share, submit it here.
We’re also always looking for guest posts. Submitting a guest post is easy, and it’s a great way to get more traffic on your own blog!
The Themes for 2016 are:
We hope to do some additional fun activities/linkups under these themes. If you have an idea, let us know!
What are your goals for the new year? If you’ve written a post on your blog about your New Years plans/goals/resolutions, post it in the comments below, and we’ll add it to our New Year’s roundup!
