Landscape Crayons

Last weekend I surveyed my lawn (not sure if it actually qualifies as a lawn if it has more weeds than grass, is continually trampled by kids and dogs, and gets less attention than my sadly-in-need-of-a-pedicure feet, but whatever), and it was still in that brown, dreary winter phase that instantly tosses you into seasonal affective disorder.

But then the monsoon kicked in it rained a fair amount here in the ‘Lou, and today I woke up to this:

Purple flowers

And this:

White flowers

And this:

green grass

I stopped right there and gave big thanks to the Big Guy for His artistry that always seems to come out just at the point when you think you can’t take one more day of brown. If you haven’t already, kick your shoes off, go sit outside somewhere, and dig your feet into a nice hunk of green grass. It’ll renew your soul…and provide convenient cover for your neglected toes until you can grab some “crayons” for those, too.
